This place just opened and since my friend and I love Indian food and live down the street, we HAD to be the first to try it. YUM!! Well flavored and just plain fresh! Surprisingly, this place was already pretty busy even in this first week. I saw a lot of dishes other people ordered that I would like to try.

We had tasty onion naan (perfectly cooked), baingan bharta (delish curried eggplant... wonderful for dipping with naan or over rice), shrimp saag (perfect blend of slightly sweet/spicy/salty/creamy with nice succulent shrimp), huge heaps of basamati rice, and also enjoyed the complementary crispy bread and dipping sauces that were offered before our meal. Try the green cilantro one - yes, yes yes.

The waitstaff were attentive and our drinks were always refilled quickly. The only downside I'd say is that the entree portions weren't huge for the price... but such is the norm for restaurants paying rent in Arlington Center. However, now that I've had a taste, I don't think it matters. My buddy is a pesco vegetarian, so I didn't get any meat. I'll definitely back with my husband for some chicken or lamb!

I just had dinner here and it was great. I ordered chicken makhani and it was one of the best I've had in the Boston area. A prior review mentioned that the portion sizes were on the small side but mine was a very good size, felt pretty full by the time I was done. I'm definitely coming back here. I've had bad experiences with Punjab in the past so I'm glad there's a new good alternative in the area!

Had take out tonight. Could not find contact info online*, but was greeted pleasantly by the staff. Ordered several chicken and vegetarian dishes that are our "standards" when we have gone to Punjab across the street. These were prepared quickly (10 minutes). Found the dishes here to be tastier and was pleased that they were slightly less expensive. Nan was a bit flat and chewy though. Nice to know that they will deliver within Atown. Hope this place sticks around!

I live pretty close to Punjabi Tadka, and love Indian food, so I was eagerly awaiting its grand opening. My husband and I headed over there the first day it opened, and I'm happy to report we were not let down in the slightest. Everything we had was super tasty and not overly oily or creamy (as many Indian restaurant dishes tend to be). Even the chutneys tasted fresh and yummy.

We ordered one of the lunch thalis and the chicken curry - both well priced for the quantity of food. The chana was particularly delicious, though I also loved the saag paneer which was cooked perfectly with lots of chunks of soft, fresh paneer (unlike restaurants that give you two pieces of dry, rubbery paneer floating in a sea of saag). The chicken was moist and delicious and the curry quite flavorful,

My one complaint, they were having a little trouble with the a/c and it was super warm in the restaurant. I have a feeling they will get that fixed pretty soon, if they haven't already, and it certainly won't stop me from heading on back for more yummy food in the future.

Yay for another yummy restaurant here in Arlington Center!

Excellent. I am (was?) a big fan of the competing restaurant up the street. But, Punjabi Tadka's prices are more fair, the food is great, and has bigger portions. The lunch menu has very reasonable prices: between $7-$9 for most dishes, and some GIGANTIC thali for about $11 or so. So tasty!
